Ofcourse it works.

It's truly amazing the power of the mind - it really is. I have made many conscious efforts to get over this depression over this period. However - all have been depressingly unsuccessful. That is until I rekindled NoFap through this sub.
Only 40 days in and I can't even count the number of times that I have heard girls tell me how different I have been acting. I have been getting so many more looks around campus than I could have imagined. I'm getting motivated in life again. Things that would have sent me into depression don't even phase me anymore. I could care less what other people think about me and I finally feel confident in myself. I am so much more social that it isn't even a comparison.

've been on NoFap for the past 100 or so days, and It's practically erased my anxiety and social awkwardness to the point where I've managed to get the first girlfriend in a long time.

Start talking to girl. Girl taken aback by the "sexiness" of my voice. Calls her friends over just so they can hear it for themselves. Cue, wet panties.
Whatever people say about placebo on nofap, if you have had an unhealthy relationship with porn (a la me), removing it from your life WILL improve it.
The voice thing? I have no explanation, but its never happened to me before. I am also noticing a lot of other benefits, namely the disappearance of that next morning hangover, lower social anxiety, more confidence in self, more driven and motivated.
